Alane Freund, MS, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT36077), lifetime equestrian, and certified in Equine Assisted Growth and Learning (EAGALA). She has worked with horses and their people for most of her life. Her professional career spans nearly three decades, and she is well-known in the field for her specialized youth programs and unique Equine Assisted Learning programs for women, families, youth, and highly sensitive people. Alane also enjoys her work with corporate, non-profit, and youth groups interested in team building, leadership training, and conflict resolution. Alane hails from a military family and is working on her EAGALA Veteran Services certification. Private equine assisted psychotherapy sessions and workshops are offered at Heart and Mind Equine in beautiful Woodacre, California.
Monica Zimmerman, MFA, EAGALA Certified Equine Specialist, is a midwife, artist and lover of horses! As a midwife for 16 years, she nurtured and held sacred space for her clients, an area of expertise she also brings to her work with horses and humans. Our resident Equine Specialist, Monica has a deep commitment to the inner workings and nurturing of the herd. With her years of experience with horses, intuitive knowing self, and a little humor, she creates a welcoming, inclusive space for humans and horses to learn from each other. Monica often signs her emails ,”Blessings from the herd,” sharing the blessings she receives from her work as part of her beloved herd of Heart and Mind rescue horses. Monica lives and works in Woodacre, California.
